About the Viking Museum Haithabu
The Viking Museum Haithabu is one of the most important archaeological museums in Germany. On the outskirts of the Vikings’ former trade metropolis, the exhibition presents spectacular archaeological findings and puts them into their historic context of some 1000 years ago. Original findings, models and modern media enliven the inhabitants’ everyday life in the museum.
An attractive footpath leads to the middle of the historic grounds where seven houses and a landing bridge have been reconstructed in accordance with original findings. Here, the visitors experience how the people of Haithabu lived during the Early Middle Ages.
